Seven and a half feet tall bronze statue of Swami Vivekananda was unveiled in Dharampur in December 1994 in a magnificient and inspiring three day celebration. An inspired group of youngsters came forward to implement Swamiji’s message. The efforts of this inspired group slowly took the shape of Shri Ramakrishna Vivekananda Seva Samiti, Dharampur, under the guidance of the monks of Ramakrishna Order. Further, the trust named Shri Ramakrishna Vivekananda Seva Samiti Trust, Dharampur was founded by Srimat Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj, 13th President of Ramakrishna Order, in 1997.

Dharampur is a small town in Valsad district where on every Tuesday at 9 p.m., all the members of trust assemble and after reading a portion from ‘The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna’, discuss occasional plans and programmes. A prayer hall is constructed at Garbarda village where local people pray and meditate regularly and spiritual retreats are also organized here. With around two hundred people initiated from Ramakrishna Order, this trust at present is the member of ‘Gujarat Ramakrishna Vivekananda Bhavprachar Parishad’. Trust has also contributed substantially in initiating and affiliating ‘Shri Sarada Math, Mogarawadi’.

Ramakrishna – Vivekananda library started by trust is catering Ramakrishna-Vivekananda & Vedanta literature in Dharampur for last thirteen years. Ramakrishna-Vivekananda & Vedanta literature and related articles like posters, CDs, photos, etc are also made available from sales section. Two students’ homes in Dharampur taluka, one ‘Eklavya Chhatralay’ at Mamabhacha village and other ‘Vivekananda Kumar Chhatralay’ at Avalankhadi village for last twelve years and eight years respectively, are run by the Trust. To inspire students in the study of ‘Ramakrishna-Vivekananda literature’, an exam based on the life of Swami Vivekananda is conducted in which more than 1,000 students participate every year. A big rally consisting of 2,000-3,000 students is organized annually on National Youth Day. Sustained graded Values-education classes are organized in 35 schools for last four years.

A health camp catering free diagnosis & medicines for the benefit of nearby villagers is regularly organized at Dinbari village of Kaprada taluka on 3rd Saturday of every month. Free medicines are made available for needy villagers during monsoon and in addition to this, a big medical camp is also organized in Sidumbar village. Clean and healthy village project is undertaken for the benefit of Garbarda & Avalakhandi villages.

Birth Anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ma Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda are celebrated every year with public meetings, cultural programmes, distribution of garments & other necessities, and feast to local villagers. At present, the trust had purchased two acres of land for the construction of Sri Ramakrishna temple, Values-education centre, Sri Ma Sarada Annakshetra, Medical centre, and a hostel for the tribal students.

At Present, regular and occasional activities organized by the Trust are as under;

1. Retreats and Seminars for local students and teachers.

2. Values-education classes for Higher Secondary as well as Primary school students.

3. Exhibitions of ‘Ramakrishna-Vivekananda literature’ and pictorial exhibitions on the lives of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ma Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.

4. Cultural programmes for and by local people.

5. Conventions and public meetings for devotees in which senior monks of Ramakrishna Order guide them.
