It is a pleasure to learn that Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Rajkot, is bringing out commemorative souvenir to mark the conclusion of the celebrations of the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekanandaji’s ‘Parivrajaka’ days spent in various places across India and Gujarat. The initiative to publish the commemorative souvenir is a very thoughtful and noble one.
Swamiji possessed an unparalleled vision and vastness of thought. His vision and legacy have been carried forward by the Ramakrishna Mission which have been endeavouring on a selfless service of the humanity and espousing the values of universal brotherhood.
It is the sheer magic of Swami Vivekananda’s voice and the charm of his words that have made his thoughts, ideas and works relevant even after 125 years. Swamiji’s teachings resonated throughout the world from Chicago in 1893 and continue to reverberate strongly even today.
The ‘Parivrajaka’ days spent by Swami Vivekanandaji spanning the length and breadth of the nation and Gujarat, in particular, have been a blessing for our country. The soil of Gujarat and the people of the state continue to experience and feel Swamiji’s divine presence at the various places that he visited.
